We’re Getting Married

Brittney and John’s story is a true testament to fate’s mysterious ways. Despite John being childhood friends with Brittney's cousin and one of her best friends, they wouldn’t meet until the summer of 2016. Their birthdays are only two days apart. When John asked their mutual friend for bar recommendations in Brittney’s hometown to celebrate his birthday, the friend suggested combining his festivities with Brittney’s, which was coincidentally set for the same night. Although Brittney (a quintessential Leo) was initially reluctant to share her spotlight with a stranger, she surprised herself and agreed to the arrangement. Some of her first words to John were a playful jab that went something along the lines of “So, you’re the person who's ruining my birthday." All was forgiven after John charmed her with a round of birthday drinks, a Bud Light and a shot of Fireball for each of them, using the birthday money his grandma gave him just a few hours earlier. Almost eight years to the day of their first encounter, Brittney and John got engaged on July 27th, 2024, coinciding with Brittney's birthday. Surrounded by loved ones at The Silver Light Tavern in Brooklyn, John caught Brittney completely off guard as she blew out her birthday candles, asking her to marry him. The festivities continued into the night, with friends and family offering heartfelt congratulations and joining in their joy. It was truly a day to remember and one they will always hold dear. Eight years, an apartment in the city, and countless of adventures later, John and Brittney eagerly anticipate the next chapter of their love story as husband and wife. Each twist, turn, and seemingly innocuous decision has led them to this moment - a testament to the beautiful unpredictability of life. The future remains a mystery, but therein lies the thrill of their journey together. It’s serves as a reminder that the most extraordinary stories are oftentimes the ones we never see coming.
