When I was planning this show I started with the concept of a full cup, an overflowing cup even. I see my art and the many modes I work in as filling up many cups inside of me and as each in turn overflows I have more love to give without needing anything back in return, I am already full, after all. When I got to my first studio residency in preparation for the show it came upon me quite suddenly that I would be painting for Hope, something I would be happy to spend days and days cooking in and thinking about. It followed naturally that I also painted for Health, Harmony, Humor and Happiness. Quite simply, things I want more of for myself, my life, and all around me. So I personally think it is an outrageously good idea to fill a gallery up with what I want more of and have people I love come and celebrate it with me.
