Our Story

We met as kids at First United Methodist Church of Bossier City, since both of our families were members of the church. From the nursery to high school graduation, we were always together. We were both confirmed in the church in 6th grade, we were always in the same Sunday School class, and attended many youth group events together. Our junior year of high school, we both started working in the sound booth. Every Sunday morning, we would help in the traditional service and get breakfast at Whataburger. In the summer of 2021, my dad invited Coleman to go fishing with him, which later led to the fishing "dream team." When my family planned a beach trip to Galveston, TX, my dad invited Coleman to tag along so that I would have a friend there. After the beach trip, we realized we may be more than friends. We went on our first date to Texas Roadhouse and soon became inseparable. Coleman came to my house on August 13, 2021 with flowers in his hand, and stated that I could only have them if I would be his girlfriend. This was the start to something beautiful. We got to experience our senior year together through many football and volleyball games, homecoming, prom, and graduation. We both made the decision to attend Louisiana Tech University, to major in Forestry and Health Informatics and Information Management. We are so blessed to have gone through every stage of life together and can't wait to see what the future holds!

The Proposal

I planned a girls trip to Fredericksburg, TX for spring break. Before we left for the trip, I was told that my "friends mom" had booked a tour and lunch for us at a local vineyard (I thought nothing of this!). On the last day of our trip, we headed to the vineyard, where I was fully prepared for a "tour and lunch." When we arrived, we were greeted by the workers and introduced to our "tour guide." The guide informed us that there may be a photographer walking around, but to not pay her any attention, as she was there for a "separate event." As we walked around taking photos before the "tour," the photographer walked up and asked to take our photo, since we had cute outfits and we looked good for her business page. She then directed us to a spot located between 2 oak trees, and asked me to stand there, so she could perfect the lighting. As I began walking to the trees, I saw a "strange man" hiding behind one of the trees, which frightened me a little bit. Shortly after I stated to my friends that the strange man was making me nervous, he walked out from behind the tree. It was Coleman! This took me by complete surprise, as we were 8 hours away from home, and this trip had been planned for MONTHS! He got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. This was the easiest yes! Then, just when I thought I couldn't be surprised any more, my family walked out of the winery to be there for this special moment. We all got to have lunch and talk about how Coleman planned this perfect proposal. This was absolutely the best day of my life!
