FAQs

The Wedding Website of Darian Bidroski and Brian Hargens
The Details You have questions, we have answers.
Question

Do I Need a Passport?

Answer

Yes! A valid passport book is required for all guests to travel to the Dominican Republic. Most importantly, the Dominican Republic requires that your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of your arrival. If your passport expires any time around or before November 2026, we recommend starting the renewal process as soon as possible. Routine processing can take several weeks, so it's best to plan ahead. You can apply for a new passport or start your renewal on the official government website here: https://travel.state.gov/passports

Question

Do I need to fill out any travel forms?

Answer

Yes! All guests must complete the Dominican Republic's "E-Ticket" before arriving at the airport. This free digital form generates a QR code that you'll need to present at customs. You can easily fill out the E-Ticket at any time after obtaining your flight information by visiting eTicket.migracion.gob.do.

Question

Travel & RSVP Timing

Answer

Since this is a destination wedding, planning ahead is especially important. We recommend booking your travel and accommodations by May 12, 2026 (six months before the wedding) to secure the best rates and ensure availability at the resort. Please note that there is no formal room block, and rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Waiting to book may result in limited availability or the resort selling out. In order for us to finalize details with the resort, all guests must RSVP by August 15, 2026. Final guest and reservation information is due to the resort 45 days before the wedding. We truly appreciate you planning ahead and letting us know your intentions by the RSVP deadline.

Question

Can I Bring My Children?

Answer

We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only event. Our chosen resort is an adults-only property, so we respectfully request that all guests be 18 or older.

Question

How do I get to the resort from the airport?

Answer

The resort is approximately 45 minutes from the Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). To ensure a smooth and safe arrival, all guests should book their airport transfers directly through Brittany. She will coordinate your transportation to Secrets Tides so that a driver is waiting for you when you land. We do not recommend trying to arrange your own taxi or shuttle upon arrival at the airport.

Question

What's Included In My Stay?

Answer

Our resort is fully all-inclusive, which means you can put your wallet away once you arrive! This covers all of your meals, snacks, and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), as well as daily resort entertainment and amenities. A few things to keep in mind: Tipping: It is customary in the DR to bring some small cash ($1s and $5s) to tip the staff who provide great service, like bartenders, servers, and housekeeping. Excursions: If you decide to venture off-property for excursions (like boat tours or zip-lining) or book a service at the resort spa, those will be an additional cost. Currency: US Dollars are widely accepted for tips and excursions, so there's no need to exchange money for Dominican Pesos.

Question

How do I find information about the resort during my stay?

Answer

Secrets Tides Punta Cana has a dedicated resort app called Hyatt Inclusive Collection. The app includes maps, dining options, bars, daily activities, and more—everything you need in one place to enjoy the resort to the fullest.

Question

Is the water safe to drink?

Answer

While the tap water at the resort is fine for showering, we recommend drinking only bottled or filtered water during your stay. The resort provides unlimited bottled water in your room and at all bars and restaurants, so staying hydrated is easy!

Question

Will my phone work at the resort?

Answer

Secrets Tides offers complimentary high-speed WiFi throughout the property, so you can easily stay connected. We recommend checking with your cell provider about international roaming plans if you plan to use your phone's data outside of the resort or during excursions.

Question

Do I need a power adapter?

Answer

No! The Dominican Republic uses the same Type A and B outlets (110V) as North America.
