Scotty and I were introduced by our mutual friend Harvey. Harvey ended up inviting Scotty to join us and our kids at the beach in Faribault. A few hours later both Scotty and Harvey called into work the next day to play hooky and go tubing down the cannon river. Scotty being the smart guy he is, called into work (in 2020, pandemic peak) with covid symptoms. He then had to spend the next 10 days out of work for covid protocols 🤦🏼‍♀️ Needless to say, we had a lot of time to get to know each other.

Miami Beach. 82 and sunny. The kids each had a job, Izzy played our song on the Bluetooth speaker, Tristan recorded the video, Shay was taking professional pictures, and Cyrus was taking pictures of the man o war in the ocean. Everything was set, Christy was oblivious, and Scotty was down on one knee in the water. With some sweet words being spoken Scotty opened the ring box upside down and asked for forever with our family. What everyone may not know is that we went shelling a few days prior where Scotty found the perfect clamshell to use for the proposal.. in his nervousness of knowing what he was going to do at the beach that day, he sat on the shell that was in his pocket waiting for the moment and broke it. LOL.. it was the thought that counted.
