Welcome to Our Wedding!

In 2014, Harell became the coach of Ashanti's oldest son's AAU basketball team. Initially, the Director of the organization did not want her to have Harell's phone number, thinking she would scare him off! Well since she was heavily involved in the organization, she figured she already had his phone number or at least his email address...and sure enough she did! Ashanti contacted Harell, introduced herself and scheduled a time for them to speak later about the team. That evening, she called him and was NOT impressed! He answered the phone yelling, "Who Dis!" Talk about clutching your pearls! Ashanti immediately wanted to hang up and call the Director and tell him to fire this guy!! Praying this wasn't Harell's norm, she asked him if he was Okay. Harell then explained he just found out a friend had passed away and wasn't in the right frame of mind. Shew!! They hung up and the next day he called back...sounding MUCH better. So much better, they stayed on the phone for FOUR hours - straight - had to charge phones and everything! Most of you know, Ashanti is not a talker and especially does not like talking on the phone, but her attention was definitely kept. Shortly after meeting, they decided to date....and here they are 9 years later, planning to say "I Do!"
