Our Dating Story: It was the fall of 2021 and Tori had heard she was going to be reunited with a gentleman (Phil) whom their mutual friends (Brian and Deidra) were convinced had a crush on her. Brian and Deidra invited them both to an upcoming brunch and christening for their son. Phil however did not attend the brunch. While he did attend the christening later that afternoon, they did not reconnect as it was still a time of masks and social distancing. As the service ended, they went off to their respective evening plans. While walking to her car, Tori said to Deidra, "What happened to my future husband?!" She replied, "He was here! Don't worry, I got you. I am going to set something up." D organized for the three of them to go see a Broadway play together a couple weeks later. The three of them went out, grabbed Shake Shack outside, and chatted about the play and some life musings. After walking D to her car, Phil walked Tori to the train to get back to Brooklyn. On the walk through Times Square, she said to him "So what's your story?" After learning a little about him (while pretending she did not already have intel), Tori suggested they continue the conversation on a date. The very next day, October 8, they were on their first date. Our Proposal Story: For Thanksgiving of 2022, Phil and Tori went to Puerto Rico to visit her parents for a week. Since this was Phil's first time to PR, Tori wanted to ensure that Phil loved the island as much as she did. They made plans to visit sites, eat local foods, and hike the El Yunque Rainforest. On 11.22.22, during what ended up being a private waterfall hiking excursion in the rainforest, Phil proposed in front of a waterfall catching Tori completely off guard. Their tour guide (who was in on the surprise) captured the memories via photo so they would be able to cherish the moment for years to come.
