We met at Heritage Fellowship Church in Jefferson City, TN, while attending the first Young Adults event of the year to the Track in Pigeon Forge. After a night of go-carting, mini golf, and Taco Bell, we stayed in touch through the Young Adults ministry and became very good friends over the next 4 years. Over the past two and a half years, we served together as leaders of the Young Adult small group. It wasn't until the pandemic of 2020 that we had even considered the idea of dating (though Michael says he's been smitten since day one!).
Our first date was dinner at Olive Garden followed by ice cream at The Creek Cafe. We spent the evening talking about our dreams and plans for the future. After one date, there wasn't a doubt in our minds that we wanted to be together. Even through the many ups and downs we've faced since that night, we knew that there was no one else we'd rather spend the rest of our lives with.
Since July 2021, we had been planning on going to Disney World and Lido Key, FL, with Michael's family, but little did I know that it would be one of the most memorable trips of our lives! On our third and final day at Disney, we spent the morning at Magic Kingdom and were planning on taking pictures with his family in front of Cinderella's Castle. After a few normal pictures in front of the castle, Michael got down on one knee and popped the question!
