Cherish and Marcus’ journey started fall of 2010 at Morgan State University. Cherish first caught Marcus’ eye as she walked past him one day on the Morgan Communication bridge. In that moment he was filled with curiosity and ask his friends, “Man, who is that?!, I gotta know her”. From that point on, he was determined to make Cherish his girl. This did not happen instantly though, Marcus and Cherish would pass each other everyday on the Morgan bridge exchanging stares and smiles for two months before Marcus finally made his move. Marcus caught Cherish alone in the library and decided it was now or never. He nervously approached and after two months of deciding what to say, blurted out “Hey whatcha working on?” Cherish smiled, knowing it was corny but still cute. They exchanged numbers and from that moment on, they’ve been inseparable! Over the years, Cherish and Marcus’ grew together as people, experiencing major milestones such as birthdays, college graduations, and big promotions as well as traveling and seeing the world together. Marcus always knew that he would marry Cherish, and July 2020 he made it official. Cherish hosted a small party for her birthday where Marcus gave the best gift of all… a surprise proposal! Needless to say; she said yes then the party really started!
