FAQs

The Wedding Website of Brittany Griffin and Shawn Dilmore
- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - As much as we wish we could predict the future, we will not know what the state of our world will be in November 2021 regarding safety requirements (whether from state or venue); however, we will continue to keep you updated here as things change moving forward. If you have any questions other than what we’ve listed here, please reach out to either Brittany or Shawn personally.
Question

RECENT UPDATE RE: AFTERPARTY

Answer

Hello everyone! On November 5th we were informed that our after party venue (Stratus Rooftop Lounge) will begin requiring vaccination proof as of November 11th in accordance with the current Philadelphia COVID-19 protocols. This is because Stratus is a public venue. PLEASE NOTE: this is NOT required for our wedding ceremony/reception as this is a private event. *Please bring you vaccination card (a photo of it on your phone will be accepted) in order to gain entrance at the door.* We apologize for the last minute notice and greatly appreciate your understanding. Thank you so much and we look forward to celebrating the night with you!

Question

I didn't get my invitation, was I uninvited?

Answer

In true 2020/2021 fashion, some of our invitations are not making it to their destinations - we sincerely apologize if you have not received yours yet! Because the date we wish to hear back from you (October 12th) is quickly approaching, we have opened up the an RSVP portal here on our website. If you feel as though your invitation may have gotten lost, along the way please go to the "RSVP" tab at the top right hand side of our website. Here, you will be able to enter the first and last name of ONE member of your party. Please note, if you're responding for you and a guest, you'll be able to RSVP (and make your dinner selections) for your entire group on the pages that follow. If you find you are having difficulty using this feature, please reach out to Shawn or Brittany directly.

Question

What in the world is Chicken Love Park?

Answer

Chicken Love Park is the Union Trust’s most popular chicken dish! It is comprised of sautéed spinach, sun dried tomatoes, Boursin cheese, and truffled Demi glace. Yum!

Question

What does "Black Tie Optional" mean?

Answer

Don't be afraid to fancy it up a bit! To my ladies: Although I'd totally use this excuse to wear a full- or mid-length dress (because let's be honest, when else do we get the chance?), a cocktail dress is also a wonderful option! To the fellas: Tuxedos are welcome, but definitely not a requirement. A dark-colored formal suit will look perfect out on that dance floor all night long! Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

We ask that you please RSVP by October 12, 2021. If you feel that you can not mail your RSVP card back by this time, we ask that you please reach out to Brittany or Shawn prior to this date so that they have the proper guest count in time! *We have now added an RSVP option through this website - please see the first question above regarding this information.*

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. If not, we would prefer if it was just you. Although we would love to have everyone attend, please be aware that there still may be restrictions of large gatherings and we would prefer to stick within these guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone attending.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids — we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

Where should guests park?

Answer

We will have free parking available to our wedding guests at the lot adjacent to our venue. There will be a parking attendant outside directing you where to go as you pull up. If you prefer to park yourself, there are plenty of public paring lots that are within walking distance to the venue! Please follow this link to see what parking options are available to you. It will also provide you with distance from venue as well as cost. https://www.parkwhiz.com/union-trust-parking/

Question

Is there a shuttle from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

Our venue is located only a few blocks away from the hotels that we have provided here on our website (don't forget to mention the Griffin Dilmore Wedding for a discount on your stay). Because we are so close, a designated shuttle will not be running to and from the hotels as we expected most guests would prefer to take the scenic walk through historic Philadelphia to join us on this lovely fall day. If you prefer to ride there instead, we will have a Lyft code that will provide you with a discount if you have the Lyft app. This will be provided to you in your hotel room upon arrival!

Question

Is a COVID Vaccine required to attend the wedding?

Answer

As you are aware, Shawn and Brittany both work within the medical field and make their decisions based on scientific evidence that continues to grow each day. On March 8th, 2021, the CDC made an announcement stating that "fully vaccinated people will be allowed to gather indoors with other fully vaccinated people without wearing masks or social distancing". This means that wedding guests, if vaccinated, will be able to gather, unmasked, with others who are vaccinated. Please note: there has been full FDA approval of a vaccine at this point in time. Although we highly recommend that you get vaccinated (for the health and safety of you and your loved ones), we will not require this of our weddings guests. However, if you choose not to get vaccinated, we may require proof of negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of our wedding. Please understand the level of importance we place on this request as we have high-risk guests that we would like to protect.

Question

Will you be taking any additional COVID-19 precautions?

Answer

Please be assured that your health and safety is our top priority! Along with adhering to the current restrictions and guidelines, we have chosen to implement the following additional safety measures at our wedding: - We will have multiple sanitizing stations set up around the venue. - We have a detailed COVID-safe plan that has been provided by our venue. - Individual drink orders will be taken, with glasses washed and sterilized after each use. - All wait staff and bar staff will be wearing masks and have been vaccinated.

Question

Are masks required? Will they be provided?

Answer

As much as we wish we could predict the future, we will not know what the state of our world will be in November 2021 regarding safety requirements (whether from state or venue); however, we are very hopeful that wearing a mask will not be a requirement for our wedding. In August 2021, in response to growing numbers of new COVID-19 cases in Philadelphia and an increase in hospitalizations, the City announced new policies designed to slow the spread of the dangerous Delta variant. All individuals who can not show valid proof of vaccination are now required to wear a mask when inside a Philadelphia restaurant. We will continue to keep you updated on our venue's wedding-specific mask policies as we find out more! That being said, we completely understand and respect any guests who may wish to wear a mask on the day. Please note that we will be supplying masks at the venue, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer!

Question

Will you encourage social distancing?

Answer

We can’t wait to have all of our favorite people together in one place - maybe even for the first time in almost 2 years! We have created our seating plan in line with the current COVID-19 restrictions to allow adequate space between guests during dinner, and will be seating guests together with their close family and household members. Now that there has been FDA approval of a COVID-19 vaccine, it is our sincere hope that the majority of (if not all) guests have been vaccinated so that we may gather together safely.

Question

How many guests will be attending?

Answer

We understand the importance of this question especially given the unprecedented times that we are living through. At this time, we are expecting around 150 guests (which is in line with what our venue currently allows us to have). We will keep you posted if anything changes closer to the date!

Question

How will changes be communicated?

Answer

Rest assured we will keep you in the loop regarding any important changes with an email alert. In the unfortunate event that we have to cancel or postpone our special day, we will also reach out to all guests individually to confirm a new date. Thank you for your patience as we all move through this unprecedented time together!
