We're eloping!!

1/19/19

The idea of “eloping” may feel antiquated, and it’s true—it’s easy to hear that term and think about eager lovers running away and tying the knot without their families’ approval. But modern couples are redefining what it means to elope when you do have your parents' blessings—and it doesn’t involve any running. There’s no rule saying an elopement has to be just the two of you. Anyone is welcome to join the Vegas fun this special weekend but due to limited seating at the chapel, the actual ceremony is invite only. For everyone else, the ceremony will be live streamed for your viewing pleasure!

See, The Dentist ain't so bad!

**The smile of a lifetime**

Who would have thought a trip to the dentist would leave you with more than just clean teeth? It all began when Jared struck up a very mumbled conversation with his dental hygienist who happened to be Charlotte's Aunt Nancy. Through the flossing and fluoride, he made such a great impression on her that she felt he could be a possible suitor for her favorite niece. She gave him only a name and told him to look her up on Facebook. Accidentally playing hard to get, Charlotte wouldn't receive the message for almost a month, but the rest is history! Way to go, Nancy!

The Proposal

Potato Potahto

She was up to no good… In October of 2017, Charlotte began an online search on how to prank someone, which led her to PotatoParcel.com—highly recommended, by the way! Thus, she began a month-long campaign of mailing random/anonymous potatoes to Jared at work. The first potato read, "Drop it like it's hot -Potato,” and then another, and then another. Jared questioned, “Where are they coming from, and why?!” Even his colleagues began looking forward to his weekly potato. It finally ended with an "I wanna mash you" potato, and then it clicked: It was Charlotte! Fast forwarding to December 21st, the couple was determined to have a good evening and celebrate their Christmas early despite Charlotte being ill throughout the workweek and Jared heading back to Kansas for Christmas the next day. Their evening started with a nice dinner at Knife, a steak house off Mockingbird. As Jared reached for his wallet to pay for the lovely dinner, Charlotte jokingly asked, "Are you pulling out the ring?" Jared threw her off by retorting, ”HA! I would be drinking if that were the case!” (Good answer, she agrees and is thrown off the scent) When they arrived home, they decided to open presents. A new present had arrived earlier that morning, and Charlotte unknowingly was given this one first. As she began to open the present, she laughed and pulled out an interesting sack from the bag. She felt around for what was inside and asked, ”Is this a potato?”—She’d been caught!—”It is a potato!" She pulled out the potato and rolled her eyes, but she quickly realized this particular potato wasn’t a prank. On its skin, Jared had written, ”Will you marry me?!" …He called her on it.
