Eddie & I went to school together. In fact, I noticed this handsome, brace face boy in the hallway one day & thought he was cute! Eddie, on the other hand, had no idea I existed. 🤷🏻♀️
Like in all classic millennial love stories, Eddie asked me for my number via Facebook. We made plans to meet up at an ice cream shop the next day. Our first date at Marble Slab was almost 9 years ago! I couldn’t tell you what all we talked about but I do remember my cheeks were hurting from smiling & laughing so much. We were inseparable after our first date. Fun facts: *Eddie still has our FB convo where he awkwardly asked for my number. *Eddie later confessed that he agreed to an ice cream date despite being lactose intolerant because he didn’t want to miss an opportunity to hang out with me. (He’s the sweetest I tell ya!)
We spent the weekend in the hill country. As we were leaving the swimming hole we visit every summer, Eddie said, "Let's go exploring. We've been here so many times but lets see what's around" & as per usual I was in. We drove down a dirt road & we eventually stopped at a private picnic area near the river. Tall grass blocked our view of the water so he suggested we get out of the truck to look for an entrance into the river. We walked down & he found a huge rock to stand on so he invited me over to stand next to him. There we were: standing on the rock, hugging, admiring the peaceful river & the beautiful weather. Then I decided to explore some more so I hopped off & walked forward a few steps. Meanwhile Eddie stayed behind. " I love our little adventures", I said as I walked away & then he responded, "I love our little adventures too Diana Elizabeth Soria...". I turn around to see why on Earth he said my entire name & I see him on one knee holding a ring! With a tear in his eye & after a few sweet words, he asked me to marry him. It was a beautiful moment that we will cherish forever. We are grateful for your love & support these 8+ years. We look forward to celebrating our new chapter with each of you.
