Savon and Victoria both attended Rutgers University-New Brunswick, where he played football, and she ran track. At the time, all athletes had mandatory study hall, and as fate would have it, they had the same tutor, Mrs. Vickie. Savon was shy and didn't know exactly how to express his feelings, so he teased Victoria instead. Mrs. Vickie would always say, “he likes you, ” but little did she know the journey ahead. Eventually, he built up the courage to invite her to a family gathering to meet his parents (good move, Savon)! This caused a significant turn in their relationship, as they began to date and have been inseparable since. Of course, Victoria attended all of his football games in complete school spirit, and he could always easily spot her from the crowd. Once they graduated, Savon went off to Iowa to obtain his Master's degree and continue his football career. While at the same time, Victoria stayed in New Jersey, working corporate in Philadelphia. Yet, even with the distance, they consistently visited each other and never missed an opportunity to bring each other happiness. Once Savon graduated, he pursued his football career professionally, while Victoria continued in her career. However, Savon soon realized that God had bigger plans for his talent on the football field and blessed him with a coaching job at St. Peters Prep - his high school alma mater. The team even won their first state championship that year! Not only did Savon get the ring he longed for, a month later, Victoria got hers as well; they were engaged where they first met, Rutgers University! To make this love story even more complete, that year, they were blessed with their greatest joy of all, their son, Zion Gary Huggins. Today, Savon holds the job of running backs coach at the University of Massachusetts, while Victoria builds her organic baby food business and pursues her Master's. All while building their new home in Massachusetts to be reunited as Mr. & Mrs. Savon Huggins.
