John and Kiana’s story began long before they ever met. Their families shared friendships and connections years before either of them were born, setting the stage for a story that would unfold decades later. As teenagers, their paths crossed again and again without either of them knowing. They were just two teenagers occupying the same space, completely unaware that the person they would one day come to love was standing in the same room. It wasn't until 2024 that they became active participants in this story that had already begun. John's parents approached Kiana at an event one evening and spoke very highly of their son. They emphasized his kindness, reliability, and, just to be thorough, the fact that is 6'1". They passed along his number and told him to expect a message. After this simple introduction, they quickly broke the ice, laughing at how hard their "scouts" were working, and at the relization that both families had been planning this behind the scenes. Soon after, John planned their first date at Parkside, followed by ice cream at Jeremiah's. Dinner was filled with hours of conversation and plenty of laughter. Not long after, they had plans for a second date at the Farmer's Market. From that point on, they were pretty much inseparable. They spent their time go-kart racing, traveling, building traditions, and growing a relationship rooted in faith, laughter, and genuine friendship. Just over a month later, John wrote Kiana a note filled with the moments he already cherished, asking her to be his girlfriend. It was an easy yes. A little over a year later, John surprised Kiana with dinner at Sullivan’s. The room was filled with roses, candles, and balloons, lined with photos captioned with all the reasons he loves her. In that moment, he got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. Once again, it was an easy yes. What began as a story written long before they existed has now become the journey of a lifetime.
