We met on a typical summer evening for high school kids - seeing a movie at the Islip Movie Theater followed by eating pizza and hanging out at Starbucks. We were close friends throughout high school and didn't start dating until college in the Fall of 2009!

After a decoy trip to Democrat Point to go "clamming" on a chilly and cloudy day, Matt took Gabby back to their favorite swimming spot in the marshland behind Havemeyer Island. Meanwhile, family and friends were gathering at the beach house setting up for a huge surprise party. Our friend Tanya hid in the bushes filming while Matt got down on one knee. It was the most magical day filled with love, laughter, and lots of champagne. We finished the night celebrating at the Kismet Inn, despite the pouring rain!
