Logan and Demitria have known each other for many years, and known of each other for nearly a decade. Somehow they just never had their eyes opened to each other. God had a beautiful plan for their lives, and the proof is in the timeline! Demitria is a big city girl, moving to Dickinson had her feeling pretty hopeless when it came to finding her future husband. After two years of living here, it had only gotten worse. She was praying with her dad, the pastor of The Refuge Church when he told her “if you’re patient and rely on God’s timing, He will send your husband right here to church. You’ll know by next summer who he is” Feeling confused, impatient, and pretty skeptical, she got up to leave and guess who was sitting in the back pew of the otherwise empty sanctuary? Logan. Logan had always been raised believing in God, but his path to his own relationship with Him was like many of ours. Following as a child, and then taking our own way back to Him as we age. After coming back from deployment, Logan began to feel he needed to get to church, but many Sundays he was working, or it just didn’t work out. One Sunday he woke up and felt the heavy urge to go. That Sunday was the Sunday above, when Demitria was told her husband would just show up. Of course in typical Demitria fashion, she did not immediately see Logan and think “my husband!” She didn’t believe God would work that fast. Instead, she saw her brother’s friend intruding on her moment with her pastor and was mad he saw her crying. If you know Demitria even a little, you know this to be true. Later that day, Logan was praying for God to send him someone to share his life with. He had stopped searching for relationships, and had been waiting for the right one for years. Feeling ready, he asked God to send her. God had a good laugh in heaven that day, knowing He’d be sending Demitria, Logan’s best friend’s sister of all people. The next day, Demitria reached out. After years of knowing Logan and never talking unless they ran into each other at family functions, for some reason (God’s reason) she did it anyways. From there, the rest is history. Logan and Demitria found true friendship, peace, and love in each other, that without God’s direction, they otherwise would not have found. On 4/18 they got engaged in Glacier National Park. After calling their parents, Demitria’s dad and pastor send them 1 John 4:18, the scripture with a matching verse to the day which reads “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out all fear.” There is no better verse for Logan and Demitria’s love, and we can’t wait to share our day with you all!
