How We Met

8.2.14

We've known each other since Kindergarten! We've gone to the same schools all the way through college, but it wasn't until the summer of 2014 things changed. I worked at Old Navy and Eric worked at Dick's Sporting Goods which was conveniently located next to each other. It was tax free weekend and I decided after a long work shift to blow off steam by walking around Zona Rosa with one of my friends. We decided to go next door and check things out. I turned the corner and saw Eric walking out of the backroom. We smiled at each other and started to walk our opposite ways, I'm not sure what made me stop and turn around but I'm forever grateful that I did. As I turned around I noticed Eric did the same. We met in the middle of the shoe department and had a short conversation that left butterflies in my stomach for the rest of the night. After waiting for 3 days and wondering if he felt the same he FINALLY messaged me on twitter and that was beginning of our love story.

The Proposal

8.8.16

On the anniversary of when we first started dating, Eric sent me on a scavenger hunt to all of the places that are special in our relationship. It was our 2 year anniversary and I was at work recovering from tax free weekend. It was towards the end of my shift and I was dying to just go home, until one my coworkers threw a piece of paper at me that had a clue on it. Confused and annoyed, I spent the rest of shift asking everyone what this could possible mean. It was the end of my shift and end walks Sara, who told me to follow the clue which said to go to Dick's Sporting Goods. Outside of the store was another friend holding a vase, a clue, and rose. The clue stated that the vase was the foundation of our relationship, and each rose marked a mile stone in our relationship. The scavenger hunt took us to downtown to the looking point, and then the Nelson Atkins Museum. When we finally got to the museum I mentioned to Sara, that I was going to be mad if the this ended up back at my parents house. Well open mouth and insert foot because it did! Once we got to the house, I opened the front door to trail of rose petals that led up to my old bedroom. In there was another clue and a outfit to put on. Following the roses petals downstairs, they trailed into the kitchen and finally outside. Outside the tiki torches were lit around the deck, and I was trying to take everything in. Looking around, I noticed my parents were there, who flew back in from vacation that night! Everyone we hold near and dear to our hearts were there. I finally spotted Eric, who looked so nervous but handsome in the moonlight. I made my way over to him and heard him as the 3 words every girl dreams of hearing. Through sobs and gasps of air, I managed to get the words "YES!!" out. Champagne was poured and hugs were given. The next day we jumped on a plan to Cancun, and celebrated our engagement! I couldn't have imagined a more perfect proposal and I'm so excited to start this new chapter in our lives!
