Matthew and Sydney matched on Tinder June 21st, 2022. Matt's first words were "let's grab some Taco Bell and play Magic the Gathering" and Sydney was smitten. After exchanging socials, they both deleted the dating app and their story began. Due to life getting in the way, Matt and Sydney didn't get to go on their first date until August 3rd. Matt and Sydney's first date was meeting at Barnes and Nobles for some introductions and coffee. While no coffee was had that afternoon, they did spend five hours talking to each other about any and everything. Afterward they went back to Matt's place to play some magic the gathering (he let Sydney win) and more chats. After that night they became inseparable. Matt and Sydney made it official August 25th. The beginning was not easy. Matt was doing his teaching internship for his last semester of school and Sydney worked night shift on the weekends so they had exact opposite schedules. They made it work. A lot of their "date nights" were nights sitting in the library while he worked on his school work. After a few months, Sydney transferred departments and took a new job and schedule allowing them to work the same schedule. This has been the best change for the couple. Throughout the years Matt and Sydney's relationship grew as they spent time traveling, getting to know each other's family and friends, and even going to the occasional metal concert. They have developed a bond that is unbreakable. The couple began to share a home in October of 2023. They new if they could survive that tiny one bedroom apartment while sharing the space with Sydney's dog, Sora, they could survive anything. Spoiler alert... they did! In April of 2025 Matt and Sydney got to upgrade to a townhouse with three times the space. Little did Sydney know that Matt was also planning a little surprise for the afternoon they finished moving. On April 5th, Matt got down on one knee surrounded by moving boxes and proposed to Sydney and received an immediate yes. The easiest yes of her life. Matt and Sydney are so excited to be stepping into this next chapter in their life and to grow together as husband and wife. In their free time you can find them watching movies together with their pup, playing magic the gathering at the local card shop with their plethora of friends, playing video games, or going on many different side quests and adventures such as conventions, concerts, thrift shopping, and traveling. They are so excited to celebrate this special day with their closest friends and family.
