Bernard and I met each other during Spring of 2011 on the great University of Florida campus where we both are alumnus, Go Gators!!🐊 One of my very close friends introduced us during lunch, and immediately during conversation we hit it off. We both decided to continue being social at a night out in Gator city and once I realized how much we had in common I immediately knew how great of a guy he really is. He asked if he could see me the next morning for breakfast and with no hesitation I replied yes. From that morning on we were inseparable, and each moment from here on out our love for one another grew stronger and stronger.

Prior to our engagement, Bernard informed me of attending his Godmothers birthday party on November 4, 2017 in St. Petersburg, FL. Being the fashionista that I am, I immediately began thinking of my wardrobe for the weekend. My mother and I drive to Ocala, FL. to go shopping and I think to myself this is the perfect opportunity for wardrobe shopping for the birthday event. It was difficult finding an outfit, but once we arrived in the store there were many options. I come around the corner and spot a dress, but I think to myself this is too dressy for a birthday party. While trying on dresses in the fitting room, my mom convinced the store employees to convince me to try on the dress that caught my eye. Not knowing, this will be the dress for my engagement. Once the outfit is on I instantly say, this dress is Perfect and I bought it. On November 3rd we arrive in St. Pete, FL. and drive to Bernard’s parents house to relax and enjoy family time. We were so tired from such a long drive and decided to call it a day. The next day we wake up to enjoy a nice day on the beach after checking into our beach hotel. After great relaxation we arrive at the hotel to freshen up and get dressed for his godmothers birthday dinner. Once dressed, Bernard expresses the idea to go upstairs to the rooftop bar and grab a drink before leaving the hotel. My first response is of course let’s do it. Upon exiting the the elevator I walk to the bar and look to my right where I spot all of our family and friends standing surrounding a walkway with rose petals. I look to Bernard in awe wondering what’s going on. As he begins to go down on one knee tears begin to roll down my face, and after such special words began to come from the mouth of the man that stole my heart I immediately said yes once I heard the words “Will you marry me?” My immediate thoughts were, I’m marrying my heart, lover, and best friend!!
