They met the way that most people in their generation do; online. Celeste had been in Panama visiting her mother for a few weeks and when she came home to find a message from a cute boy. The message was sent a few days prior so she apologized for the delay and told him she was out of the country. Justin, who had just as many online dating horror stories as Celeste did, didn't believe her. He wrote back a dismissive message, telling her what a "likely story" that was. Celeste simply responded with a picture of her standing next to the giant clock (which showed the date) at the Panama Canal. That date was the exact day he sent that message. Justin, embarrassed sent a message in apology. Celeste understood and let it pass. A few weeks later Justin picked her up for their first date, a wonderful dinner at Beaches in Vancouver overlooking the Columbia river, and then after surprised her with a small fire on the riverbank while watching airplanes take off from Portland International Airport. The rest, as they say, is history.
Justin had been given a family heirloom diamond to be placed into a ring for Celeste and he had been waiting to get the call that the ring was ready to be picked up. One day, while helping his friend Tyler skin a buck, he got that phone call. Celeste was at home studying for a final when she got a text message from Aprille, Justin's mother, asking for her help and if she could come over quickly. Celeste, dressed in a ratty Seattle Seahawks shirt and jeans, threw on some flip flops and ran out the door. When she arrived Aprille was re-arranging photos and was asking Celeste for her opinion. Something seemed fishy but before she could ask she heard, in a tone of voice that sounded like she was in deep trouble, "Celeste Marie Williams." She turned around and saw Justin on one knee in the middle of his families living room, ring in hand. It was simple and perfectly Justin; "Will you marry me?" About 10 seconds after Celeste said yes, Chewy the dog tried to eat the ring.
