Our Love Story

11.23.17

The first time Jesus and Jazmin met was about 13 years ago, when Jesus was in the same soccer team as Jazmin's brother. That's where our moms come in, they became inseparable friends that soon felt like family. Our families spent every Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and birthdays together. Jazmin always had a crush on Jesus since they met and as the years went on her feelings grew as well. No one knew about her feeling though except for her best friend. She didn't believe that Jesus felt the same way though (or so she thought). You see Jesus was always a very quiet person, so it was hard to tell what he was thinking yet alone feeling. Fast forward, Jesus joined the United States Marine Corps and signed up for 4 years, so they didn't have much contact. Jazmin went off to pursue a higher education at California State University Dominguez Hills and they both focused on their own lives. Thanksgiving 2017 came along and as always both families got together. At this point Jesus completed his 4 years and Jazmin needed 1 more year to graduate. Jazmin came down to spend thanksgiving with everyone and thats when it all started. The night consisted of games. laughter, and a few coronas. Towards the end of the night, both Jesus and Jazmin opened up about the feelings they had growing up, but both were afraid of admitting. Thats when they had their first kiss. After that night everything changed for the better. Both understood that even though it took 13 years to finally be together, it was all worth the wait.

The Proposal

12.26.18

On our 1 year anniversary, I came down to celebrate the holidays with family. Jesus had decided that for our anniversary we go out for dinner and a movie. We were preparing our gifts all day, texting each other about how excited we were to give them to each other. I kept telling him that I had the best gift ever. Little did I know, that he would be giving me the best one. Jesus came to pick me up at my parents house. We decided to open gifts there and my parents, little brother, niece, and my dog Evee were present. Jesus opened my gifts first which was a snow globe with our pictures inserted inside, a photo collage outlining a number 1, and a jar filled with cute sayings leading up to our 2nd anniversary for next year. It was my turn to open my gift, I was so excited to see what he had planned, but I did not expect it to be a proposal. I opened the gift and it was a photo album. Inside were pictures of us from our first year, with sweet saying on each one. I kept turning the pages until I got to the important one that read " You are my happily ever after, will you marry me?" When I looked up, Jesus was on one knee. I was so overwhelmed with excitement and tears that he could barely hear me saying "Yes". We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you all.
