We first met in a place where the biggest worries were shoelaces and snack time. We were in kindergarten together, our names written above tiny cubbies, learning our letters side by side. By first grade, we were already familiar faces to each other—sharing crayons, standing next to one another in class photos, and moving through those early school days without knowing how important those moments would become. Back then, we were just classmates, part of the same small world. As the years went on, life shifted and changed, but somehow we always stayed connected. In our teen years, our friendship grew stronger. We talked more, laughed more, and began to truly understand one another. What started as childhood familiarity slowly turned into a deep, steady friendship built on trust and comfort. Early adulthood took us in different directions, including college and time apart. Even then, the bond we had formed never really faded—it just waited. After returning home from a college graduation in Arizona, we finally reconnected in person. This time felt different. We weren’t kids anymore, and we weren’t just friends. The timing was right, and we chose each other. From that moment on, we have been together—growing, supporting one another, and building a life rooted in years of shared history and an established foundation through God. What began in elementary school classrooms turned into a love shaped by time, patience, and friendship. Looking back, it feels like we were always meant to find our way back to each other.
