Brian and Abbey initially met in 2012 when he took his first preaching job at 160th Avenue church of Christ in Portland, Oregon where she was a member while attending nursing school at George Fox University. Abbey will say she loved Brian from the first time she met him because he was everything she had been looking for in a future husband: spiritually-minded, funny, kind, intelligent, and, not to mention, incredibly handsome. However, life doesn’t often work out the way we think it should, and Brian needed a little more time to recognize he felt the same way about her. They both went their separate ways, keeping in touch randomly over the years and seeing each other briefly in passing, but that was it. Fast forward 8 years from that first meeting… Abbey is getting ready to move to Florida to work as the nursing recruiter for Florida College when she gets a text from Brian out of the blue. They text for a couple of days, and then he calls her. 5/8/20 - Brian and Abbey start “talking” 6/18/20 - Abbey visits Brian in Missouri, and he asks her to be his girlfriend 5/28/21 - Brian proposes, Abbey says “of course!”
