Welcome To Our Adventure!

My step-dad, Paul, works with Nate at Daikin in Faribault. Nate first noticed me in a video on Paul’s facebook when we were doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Nate began to ask Paul about me, but he was too shy to say anything to me. I think this was back in 2014? I cant exactly remember! This next part of the story is sad, but we truly believe he and Paul helped bring us together. My dad passed away in September of 2017. My dad, much like Nate, loved cars, tools, and Harley Davidson (I see a lot of similarities between the two of them). When it was time to sell the big tools we didn’t need and his car, Paul asked Nate if he wanted to buy them. Nate came over when we were organizing his stuff, we had never met at this point. Paul was REALLY excited that we were both there so he could introduce us. It was so awkward! It’s one of our favorite memories now, but at the time it was so awkward. Paul came in from the outside with Nate behind him saying something like “Emily, want to meet Nate?” What was I supposed to say with him right there? So i said hi to Nate, Nate said hi back. Then Paul said “Come on you two! Shake hands and say hi!” I remember we both blushed because my dad’s family was there with us, and we could hear my mom lightly gasp. So we shook pretty much just our fingers and lightly moved them up and down. Thankfully they went back outside right away... The next day, Nate came to pick up dad’s vehicle. I remember he smiled and and his blue eyes lite up when he was joking with Paul. It made my heart flutter, i remember thinking “I want to get to know this boy...” so i added him on facebook and, from that moment on, we have not stopped talking! ~ Thanks for reading ~ Emily

Hey, it’s Emily again! We had looked at rings a few different times, but I wanted it to be a surprise when he proposed. I showed him which rings I liked, but I thought we were just looking for in the future. We flew to Las Vegas for a vacaction and a good friend’s wedding in October 2018. The day before the wedding, we went to the bachelor and bachelorette parties. I was having fun with the ladies and Nate was having fun with the guys, when we decided to go take pictures in front of the Las Vegas sign as a group! We get there, we are taking pictures, having a grand ole time! Once we are done, Nate comes up to me and says “You know I love you right?” To which i respond happily and awkwardly with “Yeah!”. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together :) The best part is it was caught on camera and there just happened to be a professional photographer there! No one called him, he was just there taking pictures for people who wanted pictures in front of the sign! He got quite a few good ones, but we were both to excited to focus on the pictures! It was the perfect moment either way... Thank you to everyone who help make that day special for us! We can’t thank you enough!
