Erika and Andrew were introduced by friends Beverly and Jeff Langford at Andrew's God Daughter Mackenzie's first birthday, you could say it was love at first sight but you'd be wrong. Erika being nervous to talk to Andrew and Andrew being oblivious to the set up made for an eventful conversation lasting less than a few minutes ending in Andrew leaving mid sentence. Over the next months they spoke occasionally about Andrew's culinary education and suggesting restaurants to each other that both would ignore. Until one day Andrew asked where Erika lived downtown and she used "The Millionaires Club" as a point of reference. Andrew questioned what that was and Erika was shocked that Andrew had never been to Texas Tavern which is a local Roanoke staple. They agreed to meet on that Monday August 3rd, 2015. The first time Erika saw him waiting for her outside her apartment she knew he was someone special. They spent the night eating cheesy westerns and bowls of chili and the rest is history. They became "Facebook Official" on 08/20/2015 at 08:20pm while they were at The Roanoke Star. Andrew proposed on 10/26/2017 and Erika and Andrew will start their Happy Ever After on  12/06/2018!

Erika and Andrew had been planning their trip to Disney World for a very long time. Their tickets were booked, their bags were packed and they were on the way! On the trip with them was Kelsey Daniel (the maid of honor) and Erika's sister joined in on the fun later in the week.  Erika had no idea of the surprise ahead of her. She was looking forward to a break from work, riding all her favorite rides, meeting her favorite Disney princesses, and mostly going to Be Our Guest the Beauty and the Beast themed restaurant she heard all about. The day of the reservation in Magic Kingdom Erika noticed how strange Ali and Kelsey were behaving, walking all over to find their favorite spot to take a picture with the castle. Erika was standing there when Andrew said her full name, she was caught off guard by this since her name has been "babe" for awhile now. Kelsey was fixing her hair when she turned around to see Andrew on one knee asking her to marry him. Spoiler Alert! She said yes! People around were applauding and the rest is history.
