Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

Dulles International Airport (IAD) is the most convenient - it's 15 minutes from the hotels we blocked / recommend (which also offer free shuttles). You could also fly into Reagan / National (DCA), but it's 40 minutes from the hotels, or Baltimore (BWI) if you're really ambitious!

What is the dress code for the Welcome Reception?

Answer

Resort casual - save your fancy clothes for the wedding! Check the weather, though, as the Welcome Reception will hopefully be outside, and it could be chilly!

Will you have transportation to / from the wedding?

Answer

Yes! If you're staying at either of our room block hotels (Lansdowne Resort or Springhill Suites), we will have shuttle buses both to and from Shadow Creek. If you are staying at Springhill Suites, the shuttle buses will begin loading at 3:15pm and will depart promptly at 3:30pm to go to the Lansdowne Resort to pick up additional guests. If you are staying at the Lansdowne Resort, the shuttle buses will begin loading at 3:45pm and will depart promptly at 4:00pm. All guests should arrive to Shadow Creek by 4:30pm. Please note, there are a lot of weddings in this area this time of year! Make sure you are getting on the right bus so you celebrate with the right couple (our company is Haymarket Transportation and there should be a sign for Waclawik / Lancer Wedding).

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

The dress code is "dressy casual" or "semi-formal" attire.

What time should I arrive at the venue?

Answer

Guests may arrive to Shadow Creek between 4:30 and 4:55. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00, so please plan accordingly.

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There is a free, on-site parking lot at Shadow Creek. Note that if you drive to the wedding but have more fun than anticipated, guests are welcome to take the shuttle home, leave cars at Shadow Creek overnight, and collect them in the morning.

Is the wedding inside or outside?

Answer

Assuming we get the beautiful Spring day we're hoping for, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside, and the reception inside. In case of rain, all festivities will be moved indoors.

We love your kids but thought you might like a night off. Adults only please!

Where can we find the happy newlyweds on Sunday to give our final farewells?

Answer

If you'd like, guests are welcome to stop by the Governor's Suite at the Lansdowne Resort between 9:00am and 11:00am to wish the couple well!
