How We Met: Bride

First comes school, then comes marriage...

Our meeting story depends on who you ask... A Story According to Bride, Our Once Upon a Time began over an intense game of Foosball of the student center of our Alma Mater: Garner-Webb University. Guarded and broken and still figuring out who she was, she was ready to dart out the door and head back home after dinner and the Foosball game... only to be stopped in her tracks. "Um excuse me..." the future groom says confidently, "I hope you don't think I'm going to allow you to walk across campus by yourself after dark". "I mean I have pepper spray, I'll be fine" the bride to be said sassily. "Well, now you've got me too". Safe to say, the groom had game. When I met you, I had no idea how my life was about to change. Who could have prepared us for how love hit us both like a truck that night. We sat on a bench overlooking the campus green laughing and talking for hours. About nothing, about everything, about dreams, and never wanting to say goodbye. It looks like we never will have to say goodbye, huh Four? Here's to Happily Ever Jackson IV <3

How We Met: Groom

When You Know, You Know

If you were to ask the groom, I knew she was my wife way before a game foosball and late night walk and talks. Our journey began the summer after we graduated high school. I was in the middle of football camp, on our lunch break, once I walked into the cafeteria, I could not help but to turn my attention towards her. I did not want to make it awkward or anything like that so I tried to keep my cool, but it was hard for me to act like I was not liking what I was seeing. A beautiful but shy woman standing off in the distance, with golden skin, long legs, and curly hair wearing a navy blue crop top with matching navy blue romper shorts. Like I said, I did not want to make it awkward so I tried to go about my business, but it was not working. Even much so, that all of my teammates were running up to me and pointing her out to me saying “that’s you, bro”. Sometimes when you know, you know! You know? So I went on to eat lunch, kept taking peeks to see where she was at, keeping tabs on her, secretly, never once even thought about stepping within five yards of her presence. She just had the demeanor, like she did not want to be approached, so I respected it. Then, out of the blue!! A woman is talking to me asking me questions about do I know somebody or something, I look up and there she is!! Playing it cool, but losing my cool at the same time, she was far enough to where you can tell she did not want to be bothered and also embarassed by the woman I was talking to, which happened to be her mother, but she was close enough for me to feel that she was the one for me. Still did not speak a word to each other, but I was determined to make her mine from that point forward. Everything I just described, probably happened within a span of 15 minutes or so, but to me it lasted for what felt like forever. Everything that happened after that day has been an amazing journey, and soon we get to add another chapter to this happily ever after!
