Maybe it was at a Navigator conference in 2019 when Macie walked up to Keith and introduced herself because she recognized him from her hometown church. It also may have been at a game night or Sunday lunch through Cornerstone Berean Church. Honestly, we can't remember our "official" meeting. We do know that, over last winter break, Keith went on an overseas trip with a group from UNL. One of Macie's best friends was on the same trip. When they got back she said to Macie - "Hey Macie, mind if I set you up with someone?" I (Macie) said, "Who are you talking about?" Her friend replied, "Keith from UNK." I said yes, wondering if she was just dreaming, but hoping she would as I knew enough of this guy to know I'd be interested. Much to my joy to find, she suggested it to Keith, who quickly reached out to me, and we went on our first date on February 12, 2022. Over the months of getting to know each other, going on adventures, and learning how to do long-distance (then REALLY long-distance over the summer) - we found ourselves quickly beginning to understand what all those sweet love songs are talking about. When I asked my friend why she initially thought Keith and I would enjoy one another she (at 5'2") said, "Well, he's really tall, and you're tall too. But mostly, he seems steady, kind, has a strong faith, and I think that, if it went somewhere, he'd care for you well." I will forever be thankful that God gave her such insight.
