We met online through Match.com. Both of our profiles were expiring soon and we both were about done with the online dating. I, (Jennifer) messaged David as I hadn't seen him online previously. He messaged me back and we talked online for days. I really loved that he wanted to continue talking and didn't just try to meet me the same day like most had on the website. Days had passed and I asked if he wanted to meet up (because he never asked me out). We agreed to meet at My Favorite Muffin. There we both ended up having a lot in common and talked for hours until the place closed. I ignored my phone and had a ton of messages from my friends upon leaving who knew I was going on the date thinking David murdered me and had already dumped my body as it wasn't like me to not pay attention to my phone or be gone for so long on a date. Upon leaving we wanted to see each other again, however a few days later I was leaving on a vacation for a week so I told him we would get together when I got back. I ended up calling my friends, letting them know I was alive, and we had planned to go to the county fair that evening. I told them how much I liked him and they suggested he came to the fair with us that night. We laughed, had great connections and our relationship started from here.
The day started out with us getting ready for our annual Friendsgiving at our home. I had no idea that my life was about to change in the best of ways. Every year David comes up with a different game that he gives away a prize. The giveaway was to guess how many mints were in the mason jar. This is the first year that David let me play along. As the night went on, we decided to do the drawing a little early because we had some friends that needed to leave. David went up stairs to take a look at the answers and determine who the winner was. When he came down stairs and announced to everyone that I was the winner I was extremely surprised. I took the jar and opened it to claim my prize. Inside I found a small container where there was a sweet note inside that David had wrote, and on the back it said turn around. I did and he was down on one knee looking up at me with his beautiful blue eyes :) I was so surprised, I had not the slightest clue what he was planning !!!! I had dreamed about this day and found my self speechless ( I know- lol ) I said yes !! ( of course ), and was so excited for what the future holds for our family. David then brought out 4 small candy jars filled with mints for Cameron and Austin, myself and him. The jars had a small red ribbon hanging from the side with a key and a locket . We then opened each others lockets sand attached them to each other to symbolize our two families becoming one. It was very special and something that I will cherish forever. I couldn't be more happier for the next chapter in our lives.
I was born and raised in California. We moved to Corvallis, Oregon when I was 12. I worked at Burger King through high school and moved my way up into management. I couldn't wait to grow up and work. My sister moved to Portland and my mom and I followed shortly after I graduated. I worked at Wells Fargo for a few years until I had my son (who is now 17), Cameron. I bought my first house at age 21 and this is when I decided to be a realtor and have been one for 17 years. I'm very social. I love karaoke, camping, hiking, and being outdoors. I love to eat and try new places and volunteering in the community. I also assist as the committee chair for my son's boy scout troop. I have never been married and strongly feel like everything happens for a reason and has thus far lead me to where I am today. I'm looking forward to starting this new chapter in my life.
Here is a little back story about me. I was born and raised on the coast. Spending a lot of my childhood on the beach at my grandparents house. I remember taking walks with my grandfather down on the beach looking for all kinds of things. My grandmother used to take me down to the pier and check out all the cool boats. One time I remember us both walking and we spotted some money on the ground a few feet away. She looked at me then took off running after it. I tried to catch up but I just couldn't. Lord knows I did my best to beg her to give me the money .....lol she never did. Even though at the time I didn't know it my grandparents are a huge part of my life. Everything I am today I owe to 3 very special people in my life. My mom, sister and my son Austin. They both helped raised me, school then onto my career. I started out doing odd and end jobs working at a restaurant then making my way to a landscape company for awhile. I found my self moving to Beaverton in my early 20's. Started working at Les Schwab and stayed there for almost 12 years. I then got a job offer at the City of Tigard and I am now working for the water department. A few things that keep me busy are hunting and fishing. Being able to spend the day out in the woods with Chase, my best friend has always brought me joy. I love to be able to make things mainly out of wood. A dream of mine is to start my own wood working business. Being in the mechanical industry has gifted me with the ability to fix things. We also find our selves out on the kayaks and the dirt bikes when we can find the time. I have always thought of my self as a teacher of sorts. I love to be able to share my knowledge about life and what I have learned.
