Amanda and Catron met in 2004 while they were both in high school. Catron was in his final season as a senior on the football team and Amanda had just started her journey as a student-athlete in volleyball. They had seen each other around campus and had several mutual friends. Catron finally decided that it was time to make a move and asked his friend to give Amanda a message. They spent several weeks getting to know each other over text messaging and talking on the phone before becoming a couple. Amanda and Catron spent a lot of time together before Catron graduated and moved to Lubbock, Texas. Catron received a full athletic scholarship to play football and study at Texas Tech University. Amanda and Catron remained close, but knew that the distance between them would put a strain on their relationship. They communicated over the phone and seen each other over the holidays when Catron came to visit. After Catron transferred to Sam Houston State University, they were reunited. Catron was finishing out his career as a student-athlete and Amanda had just began her degree plan as a Criminal Justice major. They spent time together, supporting each other through college. After graduation, Amanda moved back to Houston where she and Catron were reconnected once again. Four years later, Amanda and Catron bought their first home in the Cypress area and welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Mackenzie Lynn Houston. Now they are looking to start the next chapter of their life as husband and wife.
