We met at a truly romantic restaurant...Buffalo Wild Wings! (HAHA) We were brought together by some of our best friends for a birthday celebration. Our friend, Olivia Parker, takes full responsibility for introducing us. Drinks, karaoke, and plastic polar bears followed. From that moment on, we haven't been able to stay away from one another!
The day started a little “boring”. Just kidding, however, it did start in the town of Boring, Oregon. We took our stomachs on a scary ride to The Not So Boring Bar and Grill, grabbed a random goody bag from the dispensary and chowed down on chicken fingers. I thought the food or his twin’s driving had made Brett ill. He expressed that he was sick to his stomach several times during the trip to Trillium Lake. When we arrived, the lake was a majestic beauty, perfectly positioned under Mt Hood. After spotting two bald eagles, walking two long miles around the lake, getting lost and a little cold, we finally came across a worthy picture site for our Christmas card…at least that is what I thought. Brett proceeded to get on one knee and propose during twilight. He asked me to spend the rest of my life with him, and I replied, “Of course!” Bryan and Rene Hickman captured the whole scene. We were so lucky to have them there and part of our wonderful moment. Oh and did I mention…after the proposal, we heard a rustling through the woods. A lion, a tiger, a bear…nope, just Bryan, Brett’s twin. When we looked up, Bryan was running towards us in his puffy coat, “swish, swish, swish”, with a bottle of champagne in hand and plastic glasses to toast the engagement. He then took a tumble and dropped the glasses everywhere. Brett and I started this journey off with a laugh, and I can’t wait to laugh with him for the rest of my life.
