Under the guise of a formal “investor dinner,” Peter had one unforgettable surprise planned. He brought me back to the school where we met as kids. On the practice field, beneath a white heart arch and illuminated “Marry Me” letters, he proposed, complete with a photographer capturing every moment. The magic continued with a second surprise: a celebratory dinner at Dominick’s Steakhouse with my parents and my sister and brother-in-law, who flew in from out of town to celebrate with us!
Peter and I met long before we ever imagined this life together. The first cheer team I was ever on was the Pintos Pop Warner team, where his little sister became one of my close friends and his brother played football. Peter would be hanging around the field, our families naturally grew close, spending years celebrating together—New Year’s Eves, birthdays, pool parties, and countless memories. As the years passed, we went our separate ways and stayed loosely in touch until 2022, when Peter reached out. In true rom-com fashion, I accidentally gave him the wrong phone number and thought he had completely ghosted me. Luckily, the universe had other plans. We finally reconnected, and in January 2023, we had our first official date at Fleming’s. From that moment on, it felt like everything had come full circle.
