We both had just begun our freshman year at Chico State, and it was Labor Day weekend when we were briefly introduced at a party. Later that weekend, my roommate (and now Maid of Honor), Krista, and I needed to get a rug and a printer back to our dorm on campus. Freshman weren't allowed to have cars unless you were in off campus housing, which Cameron was. I was scared to call him so I made a friend do it. He gladly helped us out, and although he got a parking ticket in the process, he still texted me. We had our first date at Cold Stone and our first kiss in Shasta Hall room 123.
It was our 5-year anniversary, and we booked a trip to Lake Tahoe for the week to celebrate. I had the ring tucked away in my hiking backpack for a month now. It was the morning of the 11th, we packed up the same hiking backpack with a picnic lunch and headed down to our favorite rocky spot on the lake. You relaxed for about 30 minutes next to the lake while I anxiously lay beside you. I ran through the proposal in my head over and over for what seemed like an eternity, waiting for the right moment. Finally, I pulled together my words got down on one knee and popped the question. With eyes filled with tears of joy, you said yes.
We invite you to be fully present during our ceremony. Please turn off all cell phones and cameras and enjoy this special moment with us. We promise to share with you the many beautiful images taken throughout the day.
