In the summer of 2020, Herve and Devan "Swiped yes" and went on their first date on July 25th. Herve had just gotten his puppy, Tucker, who wasn't yet potty trained, so he joined the pair on their date to Jamaica Pond in Boston, MA. After an unexpected 9 hour date, the couple realized they had a lot in common including growing up in New Jersey, strong family ties, and a growing interest in of one another. At the end of the date, Herve and Devan decided to delete their dating apps and begin their journey together.

Unbeknownst to Devan, Herve had been calling her friends and family to plan the proposal. However, on a Monday evening at Devan mother's home, Herve decided he did not want to wait any longer. When Devan arrived to her mother's house for a family dinner, Herve grabbed her hand and asked her to be his forever. In complete shock with tears in her eyes, Devan yelled, "Yes" and the couple was engaged!
