Emmanuel and Lannecie met in 2016 when Emmanuel’s family began attending Lannecie’s home church in Fort Lauderdale. Since Lannecie was a year ahead of Emmanuel at Florida State University and already part of a program he was interested in, Emmanuel reached out to her for guidance. What began as a helpful conversation grew into a genuine friendship. In 2017, Emmanuel moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida A&M University, and through attending the same church, their friendship deepened as they spent more time together. Over the years, both began to recognize in each other the qualities they were seeking in a life partner: faith, discipline, hard work, patience, kindness, ambition, and a shared commitment to growth. In 2019, Emmanuel expressed his feelings, and in 2020, they officially began dating, fully aware they would be entering a long-distance relationship. For five years, their relationship spanned multiple cities: Tallahassee, Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, and New York. Despite the distance, they remained deeply committed, prioritizing seeing each other at least once every single month without exception. During this time, they grew individually and together, traveled extensively, and built a strong foundation rooted in faith, communication, and intentionality. Travel became a shared joy, with experiences across the U.S. and internationally, including the Bahamas, Jamaica, South Africa, Kenya, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. In February 2025, Emmanuel proposed, and Lannecie said yes! That same year, they finally closed the distance and moved to the same city. Together, they look forward to a future grounded in love, faith, continued adventure, and building a stable, meaningful life side by side.
