They met in April of 2019, brought together by mutual friends. From the very first meeting, something clicked. They were drawn to each other in a way that felt effortless, and no matter what life threw their way, they always found time to be together. Preston, passionate about hockey, invited Olivia to his practices and games, and without even realizing it, she became one of his biggest fans right alongside his family cheering him on from the sidelines. As the months passed, their bond deepened with every adventure and shared moment. Then, on June 28th, 2019, Preston gathered his courage and asked Olivia to be his first-ever girlfriend. From that day forward, they were inseparable, moving through different phases of life, trying new things, and growing up together. Four years in, they took a leap and moved to Olivia’s hometown in Northern Wisconsin for a year. Surrounded by family, familiar and new faces, unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and the kind of quiet joy that comes with feeling at home, their time there brought them even closer. On their fifth anniversary, while still in Olivia’s hometown, they rented a cozy dome Airbnb near Black River Falls, a peaceful spot tucked into nature. During a hike up to Castle Mound Lookout, they climbed to the top of an old fire tower, hundreds of feet above ground, high above the trees, with breathtaking views in every direction. There, with the world at their feet, Preston got down on one knee and asked Olivia to spend forever with him. Now back in Leland, NC, they’ve built a life full of laughter, adventure, and love with their golden retriever, Honey, always by their side. Whether they’re out on their Jon boat, hunting or fishing, enjoying a local brewery, or simply soaking in the quiet moments, one thing is undeniable…they were always meant to find each other.
