Our Love Story

Love at first swipe

We met online as most modern couples do. We started out as just casually texting but it became clear to Michael very quickly that this was much more than just "some online girl". Adrianna on the other hand needed some convincing. A few weeks later Adrianna finally agreed to a date. On Decemeber 2nd, 2016 Michael took Adrianna to the Milwaukee Art Museum, followed by a stroll in Cathedral Square Park to look at the Christmas tree displays. Then there was a firework display over the city of Milwaukee (perfect timing on Michael's part). Finally, the night ended with mac and cheese pizza from Ian's and dancing around Michael's apartment. This is when it became clear to both of us that love at first sight (or after one date) is real. From that moment on we were inseparable (even moving in together when most people would consider it WAY too soon). We went on trips to Colorado (2017) , Texas (2018), Nevada (2019), and all over the Midwest together. Through our travels it was obvious to both of us that there was no one else who was a better match.

Our Life Story

Growing up and moving out

In September 2017, Adrianna and Michael signed the lease of their first apartment together with a roommate. Adrianna started a new job working with children with autism in Kenosha, and splits time between her dorm and the apartment. Michael stays in the Milwaukee apartment taking care of our cat Frasier, and starts a new job at Designer's Workroom in February 2018. Michael's new job is a great opportunity for him to learn a skilled trade and he finds himself inspired by the extravagant mansions he gets to work in on Milwaukee's north shore. April 2018 Due to a series of crazy roommate stories, Adrianna and Michael move into their own apartment on Milwaukee's southside. Adrianna and Michael fall in love with their neighborhood immediately and eat all the authentic Mexican food that they can. In August of that year, they grow their family more adopting Siamese kitty Marlowe, and Michael finally understands Adrianna's love of cats. Life is steady as Michael works to provide for the family, and Adrianna loses her mind interning full time, working part time, and still going to class. In May 2019, Adrianna completed her bachelors degree in social work at Carthage College with Michael and their two cats by her side. Though she debated uprooting and going to grad school (which Michael supported all the way), Adrianna started a new job in Milwaukee working with children who are impacted by autism and Michael recently celebrated his 2 year anniversary with Designers Workroom. December 29, 2019. In an unseasonably warm winter, Michael had been enjoying taking evening drives in his "new to him" car. Michael invited Adrianna to go on a drive with him to the beach that she had visited weekly in the summer. Adrianna decided to bring her new polaroid camera to get some fun keepsake photos. Michael drove Adrianna to the beach, and walked her to the pier where he got on one knee and popped the question. Adrianna said yes! Unfortunately, none of the polaroids turned out.

Our COVID Story

Bigger and better things

We are both very fortunate that we didn't have our jobs close during the COVID-19 pandemic. Michael's work has been stable as his duties have changed from "installer" to "office manager". Adrianna's job did close for a month, and reopened with a series of policy changes. After hoping for months we could overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, it became apparent that was not the case. Adrianna made the decision to finally leave the ABA/Autism therapy field after 3 years. November 2020, Adrianna started a new job as a "Care Coordinator" for the REACH program at St.Charles Youth and Family services, under the Wraparound Milwaukee umbrella. Essentially, Adrianna now works as a case manager and collaborator to keep at risk youth placed with their parents. Adrianna loves her new job and quickly became well liked and respected in her office. Her boss even called her "one of my most advanced care coordinators". January 2021, Adrianna gets the first round of the Pfizer vaccine. Michael reads an article stating that there is a chance that if you kiss someone with the COVID-19 vaccines, you may develop the antibodies. Adrianna receives lots of kisses from Michael. We will update the story as it continues to play out. At this time, we are still planning to celebrate with you all. We pre-emptively have limited our guest list, and are hoping that all guests invited have the opportunity to get vaccinated prior to the big day. We love you all! Stay safe.
