Her Version: A cold week in December, 2016 Tyler came to setup the internet at my workplace. I immediately thought he was the cutest person I've ever seen (still do!) and wanted to get to know him. Luckily he had to keep coming back to work on installing, making links (tech words that I don't know) and one day he got locked out and knocked on my window to let him in. I was so excited and nervous to talk to him that when he suggested its so cold it might snow my immediate response was "no it's not". One of my co-workers saw a photo of him on facebook and showed me so I asked to be his friend. We messaged online for a little while before finally deciding to meet at a concert at the Jefferson Theater. Tyler was a little late and tickets sold out by the time he tried to get in so he left. I told him to turn around and talked to one of the guys at the door who I'd previously worked with to get him in and we danced the night away. We went on our first date the next day :) His Version: I was given the project to install computer networks at both the Local and Junction restaurants due to a coworker calling out sick. I arrived at the Local first and got started working. Not long after Helen walked into the office where we met eyes for the first time. While I continued to work, Helen stopped by a few more times with a big smile on her face while prancing around the office. It was then time to head to the Junction to setup their network. At some point, I got locked out of the building and had to knock on Helen’s window to get back in. I thanked her and then awkwardly said “I think it’s going to snow tonight”. She quickly responded, “No it’s not!” with a pretty smile. I then informed her that the weather report was calling for snow, which she responded “Ok, weatherman!”. It indeed did not snow that night. We soon became Facebook friends and went on our first date where Helen snuck me into a Greensky Bluegrass concert. From then on, I knew she was the one.
I had planned a trip for Tyler and I to go see a lot of Christmas lights maze in Washington DC. Tylers brother and his girlfriend were supposed to meet at the maze but didn’t get tickets in time so we went through the maze just the two of us. I knew there was a spot in the maze where there was an engagement ring made of lights (sent a photo of it to Tyler weeks before) and made Tyler take a photo with me in front of it - I had no idea the ring was actually in his pocket! We had dinner in the Nationals Park Presidential Suite and I joked with Tyler, "good thing you didn't propose in the maze, there are too many people in there". We went ice skating with all the lights around and Tyler kept wanting to get off the ice, which I thought was a good idea and best to not push our luck and fall because we went too many times around. We left to meet Tim and Jenn at their apartment before walking around the city to see more Christmas lights. After walking a little bit we all stopped to take a photo in front of the large tree in city center. Tyler and I took photos of Tim and Jenn and then swapped places for Tim and Jenn to take photos of us. Tyler kept looking at me (which I took to mean he wanted a kiss) and I noticed him fumble with his jacket pocket, thinking to myself "no way, he's not going to propose now" and we posed for a photo so I thought "okay don't over react" and then he looked at me again, got down on his knee and asked to spend his life with me - YES!
