Our journey began quietly, sitting side by side on a bench beneath the Michigan sky. The air was cool, the stars were impossibly bright, and time felt unhurried. We talked about everything and nothing at all—dreams that felt far away, plans we weren’t yet brave enough to name, and the comfort of simply being together.
