Chloe and Alex met in Mrs. Lipsky's 6th grade Social Studies class at West Cary Middle School. Story has it that Alex always found Chloe *cute*. One day, Alex was passing back quizzes to the class and was called out by another classmate for calling Chloe "baby" while handing her the social studies quiz. The earliest memory Chloe has of Alex is when they sat next to each other later in the year, Alex pulled a picture of his younger self out of his desk and said "look, I used to be fat". Chloe and Alex attended West Cary Middle School together, they became close friends at West Cary Middle School Track practices. In 8th grade, Alex and Chloe began the school year sitting next to each other in their science class. Then, Alex transferred to Apex Middle School. Later in the year, Alex answered a "TBH" post from Chloe on Facebook. They continued their friendship via instant message on Facebook. Once they transitioned to high schoolers, Chloe and Alex hung out at Green Hope High School Friday night football games and Wednesday night Hope Community Church small groups. During the Spring semester, Alex transferred from Apex High School to Green Hope High School. On May 30th, 2013, Alex asked Chloe to be his girlfriend by serenading her to the song “Fall For You" by Second Hand Serenade, assisted by Grant Hoke - a fellow groomsman. After a few years of dating, Chloe and Alex ended their high school relationship. A year and a half later, they found each other again.
During the summer of 2019, Alex and Chloe moved to Asheville, NC for Alex to complete his college internship. They both fell in love with the Asheville area and decided it would be their retirement spot. They could not think of a better place to celebrate their partnership. Chloe and Alex both attended East Carolina University, where they graduated in May of 2020 with their Bachelors degrees. Chloe graduated from East Carolina University in May of 2021 with her Masters degree. Following graduation and during the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Alex moved to Jacksonville, Florida to begin his career as a member of the Fidelity Investments team.
In May of 2021, Chloe, Alex, and their families traveled to Asheville, North Carolina to visit their wedding venue - Homewood. On May 21, 2021 in the EXACT spot they would marry each other in one year...Alex asked Chloe to spend forever with him. THEY WERE FINALLY ENGAGED! Later in the day, Chloe nervously proposed to Alex at the Omni Grove Park Inn.
In June of 2021, Alex moved back to North Carolina with Chloe. In preparation for their marriage, Chloe and Alex attended pre-marital counseling.
