Never would I have imagined that this day would come but God has been writing our story. When he writes a story it's the most beautiful one yet. January 1st, 2021 God brought us together, and after one phone call we both knew in our hearts that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We met in 2017 when Patrick came to visit my church with his pastor and a few other brothers; he quickly became a great friend to my family. Prior to this, he and his family had an established relationship with some of the Douyon family in Haiti but our paths had never crossed. Throughout those years of friendship following 2017, most conversations were strictly church and business, so when the call in January took a turn there was no doubt the winds had changed leading us on a different path towards each other. By February he was planning with my friends and family the most beautiful proposal after we had chosen our wedding date and on March 13th surrounded by our closest friends and family, Patrick surprised me with the most beautiful proposal and engagement celebration where he asked the four-worded question, “Will you marry me?” asking me to spend the rest of my life as his bride, and without hesitation the answer was ”Yes, I will marry you!” thus marking the beautiful beginning of our life long journey of commitment. I can say without a doubt that he is the one God kept for me until it was time.

Call it a coincidence, call it a miracle, I call it divine orchestration. Sashine and I have known each other for many years and our families have developed strong ties, but everything revolved around church, the kingdom of God. In that capacity, we took trips as a group and participated in other outings called "fellowship meetings." During all that time, never did it cross my mind that one day we would've become soulmates. I always acknowledged her as a beautiful soul but being in another relationship at the time, I only saw her as my sister in Christ. Once my long-term relationship ended in April of 2019, I began opening my heart to new possibilities awaiting the right time for me to make a decision about my intimate life. As I began having some success in my professional life and had enough distance from my previous relationship, I felt like it was time to choose "the one". After praying and having some deep reflection, I finally made a decision to approach Sashine and get to know her some more at the opening of 2021. Based on our initial conversations, it became evident to us that we were meant to be with each other as we both experienced waves of happiness upon every interaction, not to mention how our objectives and values were undoubtedly aligned. I promptly made the decision to pursue happiness and never looked back since. Her way of loving without holding back, her charming personality, her display of grit and courage while maintaining her grace, her willingness to sacrifice for the benefit of others, her love for God and the people of God, the way she volunteers herself as my biggest supporter throughout all my endeavors, her desire to constantly keep an open line of communication, among many other attractive qualities, reassures me that she's the one I want to spend the rest of my life with.
