When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Our RSVP deadline was May 15, 2024, and our final guest list has been submitted to our vendors. If your plans change unexpectedly, please reach out to Emily or Nathan directly. We can't wait to celebrate with everyone!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your children, but due to the historical nature of our venue and capacity limitations, we cannot accommodate children at our event with the exception of a few close family members and those in the wedding party. We appreciate your understanding.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your formal invitation includes a guest, you are welcome to bring a guest with you! Please include your guest's name with your RSVP. Otherwise, we can unfortunately not accommodate additional guests due to capacity restraints. We will only be able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Formal Attire. As our ceremony is planned to be held outdoors in the museum's courtyard, we recommend dressing for the warmer summer weather. We recommend a lightweight suit for men and for women, a cocktail dress or a lightweight pantsuit.

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony and reception will both be taking place in the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. The museum is open to the public during the day but will be closed to the public during our event. Signs will be available at the museum entrance and throughout the venue to guide guests to the correct locations for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.

How do I get to the wedding venue?

Answer

The Henry Ford Museum is located at 20900 Oakwood Boulevard in Dearborn Michigan. Once on campus, we recommend referring to the map at the following link for specific directions, entrance, and parking information for our event: https://www.thehenryford.org/documents/default-source/events/henry-ford-museum_private-event-directions-parking_121423.pdf. Please note that GPS directions may not be accurate once on The Henry Ford campus.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

The Henry Autograph Collection is where our wedding party will be getting ready and staying. We have also reserved a block of rooms at a discounted rate for our guests for the night of the wedding, June 22, 2024. Please see the "Travel Information" tab on our wedding website for more information.

Is there transportation to and from the hotel and the wedding venue?

Answer

Yes, a private shuttle will be available to take guests to and from the hotel (The Henry Autograph Collection) and the wedding venue at regular intervals throughout the evening. Please see the "Travel Information" tab on our wedding website for the full shuttle schedule.

Is parking available?

Answer

Yes, complimentary parking is available directly next to the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. If you prefer, guests may be dropped off at the museum's main entrance under the clock tower before parking. What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive by 5:45 pm to allow plenty of time for seating. The ceremony will start promptly at 6:00 pm.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will be held outdoors (weather permitting) in Pennsylvania Courtyard within the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. In case of inclement weather, an alternative indoor location has been reserved instead. Signs will be available to guide guests to the proper location.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! We will be offering a full open bar with an assortment of wine, beer, and spirits. Guests must present a valid ID to be served alcohol. We do ask that our guests keep in mind the historical nature of our venue when drinking in the museum. Please refrain from moving, sitting on, leaning against, or otherwise touching any of the artifacts or exhibits unless otherwise indicated.

What type of food will be served?

Answer

During cocktail hour, guests may sample a bruschetta bar as well as an assortment of butler-passed hors d'oeuvres. For dinner, guests may choose between the Grilled Chicken Breast with Michigan Dried Cherry Port Sauce (GF) or the Vegan Portobello Napoleon, layered with eggplant, tofu, and grilled vegetables with tomato coulis (GF, VG). Please indicate your meal choice and any food allergies or dietary restrictions along with your RSVP so we can pass this information on to the chef.

Yes! We love photos and we encourage guests to take and post pictures using our wedding hashtag #HappilyElamAfter so we can see them too!

Can I take and post photos online?

Answer

Yes, we love photos! We encourage guests to post photos and videos online using our wedding hashtag #HappilyElamAfter. When taking photos or videos, we do ask guests to be mindful of our professional photographer, as well as the historical nature of our venue. Please do not move, sit on, lean against, or otherwise disturb any of the museum's historical artifacts or exhibits.
