Kevin and Angela met on June 5th, 2014 at their New Student Conference at Texas A&M University. Sitting in a crowded auditorium, they sat one seat away from each other. After being introduced, they continued to talk across the girl until she offered to switch seats with Kevin; he gladly took her up on the offer. They spent the rest of the evening talking and laughing with each other, completely unaware of where this story would go. They exchanged phone numbers and for the rest of the summer communicated constantly, even exchanging a few letters, which lead to a deep friendship that would continue into their dating relationship. Freshmen year was a blur between adjusting to college, meeting new people and starting a new relationship. Sophomore year came and with it brought a church home for Kevin and Angela. It was spring of 2016 that they became members at New Life Baptist Church, falling in love with the community, the teaching, and even more so with Jesus. They learned a lot over the next year and a half about what it looked like to love the Lord and be a faithful follower of Christ. It was in the fall of 2017 that Kevin began to plan his proposal to Angela. He put a lot of time and thought into the ring, the time, and the song. Kevin knew that Angela loved music, and in his love for her, he wanted to propose to her with music. He spent months secretly learning to play the guitar and learning a song. On March 12th 2018, Kevin took Angela to the Houston Arboretum where he surprised her with flowers and serenaded her with a song that she had written for him about their friendship three and a half years ago! It was the perfect transition to continue their song into a new verse: marriage!
