Chip and Alex first met in high school when Chip was a sophomore and Alex was a freshman, however both were seeing other people and went their separate ways, only giving a wave here and there in the hallway. Then when Chip was a senior and Alex was a junior they walked into art class and got seated right next to one another (thank you Ms. Boncore). And that was the start of it all. Chip and Alex started dating in November of 2011 and both knew it was forever.

Chip and Alex were planning their second trip to the mountainous state park of Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. Alex threw around jokes while packing like "don't forget the engagement ring" even though she truly had no idea of what was going to happen. The day of the proposal was perfect, wineries were toured with friends and Alex was feeling great...ooops. Well, some food and a few waters later and they were on their way up the mountain to watch the sunset. They're watching the sunset and listening to country music when suddenly the music changes to a familiar song from high school. Chip pulls Alex in to dance, while she tells their friends the history behind the song (all while they are recording and she is TOTALLY oblivious). Chip then pulls Alex up onto the ledge and says "You know I want to spend the rest of my life with you right?" *Ding* light bulb goes off and Alex starts sobbing and then says Yes! The proposal couldn't have been better!
