The Beginning

Once upon a time.

A long, long time ago in a village far, far away a boy and a girl unwittingly would become apart of each other's stories. Neither of them knew that their paths would cross and complete one another's. Many souls spend so long searching for that something or someone that can complete their story. For them, their souls meshed in every sense of the word. She made him smile and he always returned the favor. For 9 years they've continued to be each other's best friends and fell in love along the way. (Kaitlin) It's hard to pinpoint the exact moment we met. We had gone to school together all our lives and would see each other in passing, but never really talked to one another. What really started it all was our involvement in the senior 2008 play at our school - The Lion King. We had both always been drama-nerds and were involved in as many plays as possible! Ian was a Freshman in high school during this play and got the role of Rafiki, the crazy baboon (which anyone that knows Ian knows this is THE perfect role for him). I was still a middle-schooler at this point (8th grade) so I was casted as "Young Nala" the lioness cub alongside Simba. We didn't have many scenes together (if any at all) but of course we would see each other at practices and watch each other perform on stage. Ian always had a natural talent for theater. He was outgoing, quick witted and (what I admired most) hilarious! No matter the scene or circumstance, he would always make the entire room laugh. Being a middle-schooler in a high school play was very intimidating, and I was extremely shy when it came to befriending anyone in the cast. I would usually sit alone and watch the others perform on stage. One day Ian had noticed me sitting alone and decided to come down and talk with me. He made me laugh, and the rest is history.

The Proposal

8.4.2016

(Ian) Our fairytale has taken us many places and we've witnessed many things together. One place we wanted to experience together was Disney World; The epicenter of all things magical. Kaitlin had never been and I wanted to make her first time as special as I could. When we decided to go one summer, Kaitlin was beyond excited and so was I. We spent the entire day at Disney World meeting princesses, seeing parades and immersing ourselves in the magic. We waited all day and had a perfect time. Every night there are fireworks beyond your dreams that wraps up the magic at the park. I planned the whole day around this and was starting to psych myself out. But I looked at her and looked at the ring and got down on one knee. I was so nervous that I never even said her name at all, just "will you marry me?" She looked stunned and to the relief of my butterflies, she accepted to make each other happy for as long as we both shall live.

The Future

And they lived happily ever after.

We hope that we can continue to share our story with all that we meet and can spread our love to all. We are so excited to be able to share this moment with all of you. We look forward to being married and finally live #happilyeverkirchner
