How We Met

Stevie and Andrew first met six years ago working for Enviroscent Inc, an eco friendly fragrance house in Atlanta. They both joined the organization with a desire to gain career experience and walked away with so much more. Each other. Their departments didn't always see eye to eye, so when they first started working together, there were times it was a bit challenging. You see, Stevie is an organized left brain whereas Andrew is more of a passionate right brain. After years of compromise, many times the last to leave the office at night, they got to know one another and began to realize just how much they had in common. Through their shared passions they later worked closely together to lead all Environmental Stewardship initiatives while also helping manage charitable, volunteer and corporate events.

Our Story

After texting back and forth (nonstop) for weeks, Andrew eventually asked Stevie out on their first date to a local Irish pub. They talked until closing that evening in 2016 and the conversation never stopped. With a mutual love for the outdoors, craft beer, and vinyl records, the two we’re instantly inseparable. They tried to keep their relationship a secret at work to avoid any office drama, but inevitably their love for one another was too obvious. Despite their best efforts, everyone found out anyway. Within a years’ time, they had both decided to take the leap, leave ATL traffic in the rearview mirror, and move to Chattanooga to build a life together in their favorite outdoor city. After exploring the area while renting for a year, the two found their dream home with the help from a dear friend. Stevie and Andrew now own their lovely historic home in the Highland Park community with their two puppy boys Logan and Levi.

The Proposal

On February 29th, exactly one year from buying their first home together, Andrew surprised Stevie by proposing in the Dominican Republic at the Avett Brothers beach festival. Accompanied by supportive friends, great music, and fellow concert goers, Stevie was surrounded with fresh picked flowers and champagne. When the time was right Andrew professed his love for Stevie, knelt down, and then asked the most important question of his entire life “can you just set the water bottle down?” Completely stunned Stevie replied “why are you giving me these flowers on one knee?” Only then could she see the ring and realized what was happening. (And to this day no one has been able to determine if Stevie actually said yes).

The Wedding

In light of current circumstances and out of an abundance of caution for our loved ones, we've decided to hold a private ceremony. Our original plan of sharing this moment with our closest friends and family this October, has quickly changed to become a very intimate summer evening ceremony instead. We are anxious to get things back to “normal” in order to properly share this celebration with you all. Until then, we continue to cherish each other while looking forward to the big day, and starting the next chapter of our adventure. As the day gets closer, we continue to keep you all in our thoughts. In times like these, as more and more changes are unfolding daily, two things remain constant: our compassion for one another and our commitment to move forward. Receiving all the love and support through this process has helped us both so much.

The Reception

We look forward to scheduling a new date when all social and travel restrictions have been lifted. Hope to see you all soon. Please be on the look out for our reception date later this year.
