It was after a regular “Girls Night Out”, in downtown Shreveport when Kara was walking through the Red River District, to get to her car. Halfway there, she was approached by a group of men. She repeatedly insisted that they leave her alone, but nothing seemed to work. All of a sudden, a man appeared from out of the shadows 🙌🏼 “Thank you Jesus”, it was a policeman. The kind officer made the men leave her alone and escorted her to her vehicle. He introduced himself as Chris, and they began to talk and laugh. After chatting for a while, Chris wished Kara a goodnight and a safe trip home. Needless to say, the next morning Kara had a DM from Chris, checking to see if she made it home safely. This was the start of a wonderful friendship that turned into a beautiful love story.
We were on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico with some friends and family. Everyone was getting all dressed up for the Captain’s Dinner. We were the last to arrive, as usual. Once seated, Chris ordered two bottles of champagne 🍾. Chris stood up, as if he was going to give a toast & out of nowhere, he kneeled down and asked his now “bride to be” if she would make him the happiest man alive, by spending the rest of her life with him. “Yesssss”, she screamed!
