Jonathan and Emylee met at Trinity International University where they both served as Resident Assistants. Looking back, they are so thankful for this vital time of establishing and growing their friendship which mainly consisted of studying in the library and seeing each other on "On Duty" nights. They attended each other's senior presentations. It was at Emylee's that her parents noticed a kind, handsome man congratulate and hug her. She assured them "Oh, that's just Jonathan." They shared a goodbye dinner, after realizing they would most likely not see each other after moving back to their hometowns after graduation - which are 10 hours apart. To each of their surprise, they continued talking the days following graduation. Snap chats and texting turned into phone calls and by the end of the summer, Jonathan journeyed to Chicago for a church conference. After much talking and prayer, Jonathan and Emylee both felt called to deepen their friendship and begin dating. Dating long distance proved to have its challenges. Especially as the hours between increased as Emylee moved to Iowa for Chiropractic School and Jonathan began seminary while still working in Pickford. Several drives, plane trips, and hundreds of FaceTime calls kept them busy learning to love each other so many miles and a timezone apart. So many unforgettable memories were created in the sweet moments together. On February 22, 2019 the stars aligned and Jonathan proposed. Jonathan and Emylee see how God's faithfulness has been with them from the beginning and trust they will grow to experience it more as they close the distance and say "I Do!" They realize how vital your support has been to them in this journey and are excited to celebrate with you!
