The North Shore of Lake Superior is a very special place for us and one of our favorite places to visit. Ally and her family have been every year since she was a little girl. And even though Chris has always loved the northwoods, he had never been to the North Shore until he met Ally. Ally was so excited to show him around the vacation place that she grew up with. Our first hike together was the Shovel Point overlook at Tettegouche State Park, and just a few years later Chris was asking for Ally's hand in marriage at the same overlook! The North Shore is characterized by rocky cliffs, cobblestone beaches, forested hills, and scenic rivers which flow towards Lake Superior. MN State Highway 61 follows the Shore for 150 miles from Duluth to the Canadian border. Along the way there are endless opportunities for exploring, including six state parks with hundreds of hiking trails, two breweries, a winery, and lots of family owned stores, restaurants, and coffee shops. We're so excited for our friends and family to experience the Minnesota northwoods and hope you'll take some time to explore the area we both love so much.
