Hannah and Daniel matched on Hinge over Thanksgiving weekend in 2017. Hannah was on her way to Iceland for a solo trip before starting a new job, and Daniel had just returned from his best friend’s wedding in South Carolina. He was in his 3rd year of medical school. They had their first date at Bondurants on the Upper East Side on December 07. Six years, five different jobs, four apartments, three years of surgery residency, two years on the Upper West Side, and one global pandemic later… the rest is history!
Hannah was very excited to walk from their apartment through Central Park to spend the afternoon at The Met museum. Afterwards they were going to dinner at Heidelberg, their favorite restaurant on the Upper East Side. A perfect NYC day. Unbeknownst to Hannah, Daniel had made plans for an even more perfect NYC day. On their walk to the museum, he proposed by the lake with Karen Seifert Photography there to capture the moment. It started to snow for the first time of the season. Magic. After a blissful hour taking photos in the snow, they went to Tavern on the Green to celebrate with a glass of champagne. Hannah was beginning to get a little antsy to start spreading the news when they walked up the block to their favorite neighborhood restaurant, Shun Lee, and were greeted with family and friends from near and far who had travelled in to share in the celebrations. They closed the night out with espresso martinis at the Empire Hotel rooftop bar. Safe to say Daniel pulled off the surprise of a lifetime.
